#120 Merry Christmas...

I'm home and wondering how another year has come and gone.  It's been a year of highs and lows and for some reason (I know it's fairly obvious) this Christmas song really has made me think this season.  I know U2 didn't write it but they did choose to cover it.

"I wish you a hopeful Christmas,
I wish you a brave new year"

I couldn't agree more!  I want to reiterate those sentiments and do wish us bravery in the new year.

Merry Christmas!

#108 Sounds Good...

Gary had U2's stage crew join the band on stage for a song.  It was pretty funny to see all the roadies getting into it, like it was their moment to shine.

#107 Snow Patrol...

Opened once again...it was their final show with U2 for a while so they did some interesting things.

#106 Ataturk Stadium, Istanbul...

This photo was taken seconds before an enormous pourdown.  The stadium was in the middle of nowhere and it was very confusing, not organized at all.  I stood in a line hoping it was the right one.  Spent way too much money on a really cheap poncho, and had an experience I'll never forget.  The rain ended miraculously just in time for U2 to hit the stage.

Turkey was such an amazing country!  Just so unlike anywhere I've been before.  Beautiful!

#103 The Scots!

Jack and Deek!  Seriously such great fans and friends to have.  I was able to meet up with one or both of them at several other shows.  They're the coolest fans out there!  So lucky to end up standing next to them!  xoxo!

#102 Beat it...

Rarely do you see Mr. Mullen out from behind his drum kit.  It's pretty fun to see him circle the stage with his bongo.

#93 Athens Olympic Stadium...

The next time I see them would be almost a year later!  The summer's tour dates were cancelled and rescheduled because of Bono's emergency back surgery...Lucky for me Athens and Turkey were still on.

#88 Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame 25th Anniversary show...

At Madison Square Garden.  Leslie and I were lucky enough to score free tix.  The only problem was we had a somewhat obstructed view as the seats were directly behind the stage...but got to see people buzzing backstage.  A plethora of legends and superstars, and amazing performances including Bruce Springsteen, Patti Smith, Aretha Franklin, Lenny Kravitz, Annie Lennox, Jerry Lee Lewis, Mick Jagger, Black Eyed Peas, Metallica, Lou Reed, Ray Davies, Jeff Beck, and I'm probably forgetting a few.  Seriously amazing to behold so much talent in one place.  The boys headlined and blew the roof off!  They did an amazing version of Patti Smith's "Because the night" with her and Bruce.

#87 one year anniversary!

One year ago today Melissa and I met Adam Clayton on the upper east side. It was serendipitous, amazing and completely genuine!

#86 You Can Keep This Suit Of Lights...

For the dramatic final encore, Bono emerges in a suit of lights complete with fog machines and a hanging microphone he also swings off.  The way the light refracts on the fog creates an intense dancing red atmosphere.  No boredom here.

#84 Carnegie Hall...

A celebration for Gavin Friday's birthday.  Many special guests including the boyz, Lady Gaga, Courtney Love, the list goes on...

Funny story, as I was posing for this photo an old man wandering by stopped to ask me if I was performing and took a picture with my name on the poster.  I had to let him down.  I wish I were that cool.

#83 Saturday Night Live...

Chateau looking kind of bored to be hobos for U2.  But sleeping on the street paid off!  We totally got in and U2 played three songs and it was magic.  We got seated in the balcony but right in front of the musical stage and we were the last two people they let in.  Luck be a lady...always!

#82 Bono Shares his Shades...

During City of Blinding Lights, Bono likes to find a young member of the audience and shares his shades with them.  It's a song about naivety and youth.  Very fitting...

#79 Love that Guitar...

Edge has had this guitar since Boy.  It's still pretty cool all these years later!

#74 Bono at the Hollywood Bowl...

Bono singing "Sunday Bloody Sunday" out on the catwalk in front of Bill Clinton.  Kind of a special evening, with special guests (including Stevie Wonder and me!)

#77 Walk the Plank...

Happy Halloween!

#70 New Jersey Night Two...

Or rather morning...we came stocked up with snacks and garbage magazines. We took naps and took breaks from sitting in the sun, but eventually we made it into the inner circle and it was incredible! The first time inside the circle on the 360 tour was complete overload! Edge was walking across a bridge right over your head while Bono was singing his heart out on stage just in front of you, meanwhile Adam was rocking on the outer stage. "where do i look?" "How do i take it all in?" it was a little frantic and a lot exciting! This is Brenda and Chateau. We had a good group with us that night.
